What is Cultural Intelligence?

Cultural Intelligence is the ability to adapt to new cultural settings. Cultural Intelligence is also known as Cultural Quotient (CQ), which is derived from IQ.

People with high CQ aren't experts in every kind of culture. Rather, they have the skills to go into new environments with confidence, and to make informed judgments based on their observations.

What is important for successful communication?

People with high CQ excel at understanding unfamiliar or ambiguous behavior. They are able to identify shared influences among groups, and this allows them to identify the impact of a particular culture which is essential in today's global environment.

However, they also know that cultural influences are complex and interconnected. They're understand that while culture is important, factors such as professional roles, generational differences and individual personalities also have a powerful effect on behavior, too.

With the Emotional Intelligence Development Tool

Emotional intelligence skills are critical for building relationships and teams, resolving conflict, solving problems, leading effectively and building resilience. The EQ-i 2.0 provides you with a detailed assessment of your areas of strength and potential areas for development. You will receive a comprehensive report describing how your EQ competencies work together for effectiveness. It also provides suggested strategies for bringing your EQ competencies into balance for greater effectiveness.

The EQ-i 2.0 assessment is administered online, using a secure site. You will respond to 133 statements related to emotional intelligence skills, which takes approximately twenty minutes to complete.

Once you’ve completed your EQ inventory, we will create your report for you.

Are their different report types?

Their are two main report types:

1. The Workplace Report puts the emphasis on your workplace performance

2. The Leadership Report focuses on your leadership effectiveness, each in the context of emotional intelligence.

The Emotional Quotient Inventory (EQ-i 2.0) is the world’s leading measure of emotional intelligence, applying decades of research to support effective human performance and development. The EQ-i 2.0 is an online self-rating assessment tool, with the option of adding a multi-rater EQ 360.

What does your report include?

Your comprehensive report provides you with your overall results, and presents these using the five EQ composite areas: Self-Perception, Self-Expression, Interpersonal, Decision Making and Stress Management.

The report also provides a detailed interpretation of how effectively you are using the 15 EQ competencies and how, by balancing these competencies, you can significantly improve your well-being, workplace and leadership performance, interpersonal relationships and communication.

Once you've received your report, Michelle will partner with you to transition to the next level of personal or professional performance.
